Q. Are dogs allowed in the state
parks/county parks in Door County?
A. Dogs are allowed in the state
parks as long as they are on a leash, attended to at all times and cleaned
up after. They are not allowed in state park's beached or designated picnic
areas. Dogs are allowed in select county parks throughout the county as
long as they are on a leash and cleaned up after.
Q. Are dogs allowed on any of the
ferries to Washington Island?
A. Dogs are allowed on the Washington
Island Car Ferry as long as they remain in the vehicle, or on the lower
deck with a leash. Dogs ride for free.
Q. Are dogs allowed on any beaches?
A. Dogs are allowed at a few beaches
in the county, but they are scattered throughout the county. Signs posted
at each beach will indicate if no dogs are allowed.
Q. Do I need to let the innkeeper
know that I am bringing my pet even though they are on the pets allowed
list?
A. Yes, you will need to inform
the innkeeper at the time you make your reservation that you are planning
on bringing your pet. Some places have designated areas for visitors traveling
with pets.
